It’s Chinese New Year this weekend. New moon. New year. New animal puns! This year it’s the year of the Tiger but I prefer to think of it as the year of the Tigger.
I’ve already done some Tigger-like bouncing this week – every time I hear good news for Shiny and our bands and there’s been a lot of good news! British India’s new single is getting High Rotation on triple j, Nova Across The Board in Melbourne & Perth, and Nova Nights Nationally, Calling All Cars’ new single added to triple j as well – those lucky boys are currently on tour with AC/DC!!! The Shiny Brights added to FBi. Though my highlight was dining with the Circle Pit kids and learning that they came to Shiny seven years ago as 14 year olds (in another band) when Stav-boss was just starting up the business and now we’ll be working together on their debut Circle Pit album ‘Bruise Constellation.’ Talk about full circle!!
I have a good feeling about 2010. There’s going to be a lot of bouncing, squealing and chair dancing. Hopefully I won’t break my new chair when it arrives.
