It’s full steam ahead for Melbourne’s Princess One Point Five {P1.5}. After a small hiatus P1.5 are gearing up for the release of their long awaited fourth album What Doesn’t Kill You.
You’ve probably already bopped along to the first cutesy pop single ‘Today’ from the new album, which has been getting airplay around the country.
Prepare for more sweet sounds because P1.5 have announced that they’re treating local Melbourne fans to a sneak peek of the new album, showcasing the new tracks and a handful of old favourites, in a month long winter warm up residency at the Builder’s Arms throughout June.
The series of shows will feature a rotating cast of super support acts, with special guest, Sophie Koh, gracing the stage for the opening Thursday winter warmer show for her first Melbourne performance in 2010. The forthcoming weeks will be peppered with a stellar line up of hand picked local Melbourne bands including kooky two-piece Flying Scribble, experimental pop kids Patinka Cha Cha, vintage folk-pop songstress Georgia fields, and many more. This residency will ensure you get your eight bucks worth any given Thursday night in June.
If you’re not a Melbourne local don’t go into a panic induced frenzy just yet, P1.5 will be lighting up a stage near you once tour dates are announced later in the year to promote the August release of What Doesn’t Kill You. Stay tuned for further tour announcements.
In the meantime, check out the clip for ‘Today’ on the P1.5 website. If you love it make sure you vote for it in the Catapult Song Contest!
…there will be no turning back this time!
