Well I survived my first week of the dreaded Full-Time Grown Up Job – A prospect so scary that I have previously avoided it the way I do pigeons!!

My first day went swimmingly, I was re-introduced to the super friendly staff at Shiny and managed to get my head around the new computer programs and systems without destroying databases or setting fire to anything. There was a small incident involving the rain and my shoes but, other than Stav assuming that I had an amazing tolerance to the cold and some freezing toes, no real harm was done.

The week flew amazingly fast; I introduced myself to HEAPS of people via email and telephone calls, remembered to say “Hello Shiny, this is Emily” when answering the phone, popped my website-content-developing cherry and even began working on my very own campaign!
Stav showed me the ropes, Jade taught me how to edit and upload important stuff and Matt walked me to the local post office.

I even endured a coffee and sugar free Friday and was still happy to be employed full time at Shiny! (Don’t panic, this is not a cruel initiation process that Shiny forces upon all new employees, just the questionable workings of a naturopath)

So it turns out that there was really nothing to fear, one full time job is actually a thousand times better than multiple casual jobs
…I am not confident yet that the same can be said about my fear of birds!
