The boys tore up the stage in front of a highly adoring home town audience, sold out their Brisbane show, and rocked the socks of Adelaide fans, not to mention warmed up Canberra and Wagga punters last weekend.

British India shared the stage with Vampire Weekend, Silverchair, Empire of the Sun and Grinspoon at the Groovin the Moo festival as well as playing to a bunch of lucky screaming high school kids as part of Triple J’s Unearthed high competition. …And that’s just June!

July will see British India’s Avalanche tour hit Sydney, Newcastle and Tassie before the boys take a short, but well deserved break.

If you are having serious BI with drawl symptoms tune into Neighbours on Tuesday the 17th of August to see the boys perform and teach Ramsey Street residents all about garage rock!

Congratulations to British India on their Top 10 debut in the National ARIA Album Charts despite Mother’s Day madness. Though just quietly, I think a lot of mothers would have been pretty damn disappointed to open their presents and find Susan Boyle, Mark Vincent, Andre Rieu or Michael Buble CDs instead of British India’s kickass Avalanche.

Seriously, nothing says “I love you, Mum” like a fiercely independent rock record by four nice, polite, young boys. Especially if you tell her it’s a must-have for all CD collections and widely acclaimed by people whose opinions matter way more than hers:

ALBUM OF THE WEEK in The Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, Courier Mail, Adelaide Advertiser, Sunday Herald Sun, Canberra Times and more!

“Avalanche is a force to be reckoned with.”
Matthew Heath, The Canberra Times

“A great way to spend half an hour.”
Cameron Adams, Herald Sun

“This release affirms British India’s position as one of the most solid rock bands in Australia.”
Patrick Donovan, The Age

“Avalanche is on track to be one of the best rock albums of 2010″
Paul Capaloupo, The Music network

“Avalanche confirms that British India are one of the best bands of the modern era”
Jeff Jenkins, Inpress

“Bloody freakin’ awesome!”
Jade Pham, Shiny Entertainment

Who will drop into Shiny HQ to make sure we’re working and not playing lawn bowls across the street? Who will indulge my bazillion publicity demands and still say ‘thank you’? Who will give me email hugs when my heads about to explode from deadline-overload?

We miss the boys but you guys can have them for a little while. Though…bring them home in one piece or there’ll be trouble.
