A band that in the past has supported bands like AC/DC and Queens Of The Stone Age. A band whose second album Dancing With A Dead Man was a triple j feature album in 2011. A band whose list of achievements is starting to resemble a Christmas wish list of every starry-eyed young indie band in the country.

What more can you stuff into their sack, I hear you ask? How about the BIGGEST music festival in the country? That’s right, Melbourne rockers Calling All Cars have been added to the East Coast legs of the Big Day Out, joining the likes of Soundgarden, Kasabian and My Chemical Romance on this mammoth music tour.

But wait, there’s more! The CAC camp have even more reason to celebrate this festive season as they’ve been invited to support rock and roll royalty Foo Fighters on their upcoming Australian tour. Proving once again why they’re the support band of choice when it comes to the biggest names in rock, Calling All Cars will open the proceedings in Perth and Adelaide.

BABY GOT BITE!

We have tipped the scale of obesity this year, with the Fat as Butter festival adding a dangerously high calorie count of three Shiny bands to their menu! Calling all Cars, British India & Owl Eyes will be joining the ranks with acts such as Empire of the Sun, Sparkadia, The Living End to take on The Foreshore, Newcastle on Saturday 22nd October. We anticipate that this three course Shiny indulgence is going to have you bloated with excitement, so you best get busy buying your tickets stat!

With their first single ‘Reptile’ already heating up, the group of vigilantes will take vengeance on insomnia, armed with their next bullet in the barrell in the form of their appropriately titled single ‘No Sleep’ .

Locked and loaded, ‘Dancing with a Dead Man’ will land on August 5th, followed by the tour beginning on August 11th with support from Shiny Brother in arms - Box in a Box and Melbourne locals, Redcoats. Best strap on those spurs, as this group of Outlaws will be taking to the highway, setting up camp in Traralgon and travelling all the way through to Scarborough, view the tour details HERE.

In other news, Triple J’s ‘Like a Version’ has been Shiny friendly of late, with a lush performance by our very own Owl Eyes covering Foster the People’s ‘Pumped up Kicks’, and most recently, Calling all Cars taking on a cover of the Arctic Monkey’s ‘Don’t Sit Down Cause I Moved Your Chair’. The normally hard and heavy band of three, showcased a softer side with an acoustic performance of their recent single ‘Reptile’ – You can listen to both performance’s HERE.
