What we can tell you though is that rock and roll institution ROCKWIZ will be along for the ride, opening the event on the eve of festivities. That’s right, Julia Zemiro, Brian Nankervis and The RocKwiz Orkestra will be taking over Pyramid Rock for a very special night of pre-game entertainment. If you wanna catch RocKwiz at Pyramid Rock Festival you’ll have to get in bright and early and nab a 3-day pass when tickets go on sale this September. The good news on that front is that all 2-day and 3-day tickets have been locked in at last year’s prices for the second year in a row! That’s a 2011 festival at 2009 prices!

Stand idly by as he romances you with tracks from his highly anticipated Debut solo album “Torpor and Spleen”.

Still hungry? What about something sweet from Belgium, like DJ AEROPLANE, flying in to escape the European winter and spend New Year ‘s Eve on sunny Phillip Island…hailed in the New York Times as “the standard-bearer of Australian hip-hop”  KOOLISM (feat PLUTONIC LAB) will also be bringing the big beats of the viny jungle to Pyramid…Soul-Fi dance spectacular SPACE INVADAS will be bringing you their inter-galactic soul tunes.

Jumping on the Pyramid band wagon is Melbourne community radio faves WAGONS who will have you inventing new line dancing routines as they take to the stage to perform their own breed of harmony infused country-esque tunes…French DJ YUKSEK‘s stellar live show promises to deliver pure amazingness…Loss Angeles’ “ambassador of boogie-funk” DAM-FUNK will get have your booty shaking with his arsenal of vintage synths and drum machines…while English electro-muso GOLD PANDA will be delivering his polished hip-hop beats infused with vocal samples and impressive collection of remixes.

I’m getting tired now…but too excited to stop! Watch out for Sydneysiders THE HOLIDAYS packing their tent along with their debut album ‘Post Paradise’…Melbourne rapper ILLY will bring his fresh new album ‘Long Story Short’ to the Pyramid stage, and hopefully a guest in the enchanting Owl Eyes…new indie charmer on the block ERNEST ELLIS will win your heart with his sweet folk-pop tunes…Swedish sister act (sorry, no twins) BASKERY brings you the best kill-billly mud-country sounds…Melbourne’s monster dub/ reggae band THE RED EYES will lull you into a soul-groove trance.

Deep breath…we’re in the final stretch, add to this…fresh faced Gisborne sisters and Triple j unearthed high winners, STONEFIELD…Melbourne songstress KIMBRA (who recently lent her gorgeous vocals to the Miami Horror’s ‘I Look To You’)… you like your rock make sure you check out rising stars and purveyors of disparate and emotional rock PAPA Vs. PRETTY who are joining the fun at Phillip Island along with Melbourne psychedelic blues-rock four piece the REDCOATS…Sydney lads CABINS will be adding their dark, melodic, atmospheric tunes…add Melbourne indie-rock four-piece BLACK & WHITE…M-Town’s JERICCO…

In the past five years The Pyramid Rock Festival has completely sold out months in advance of festival date, and with this year’s incredible lineup we’re expecting the same result.

After last years’ apocalyptic electrical storm there was a lot of speculation that Pyramid wouldn’t return to ring in the 2011 New Year. However, after the electrifying and untimely display by Mother Nature (described by keen weather watchers as a “once in a hundred year storm”), festival organisers have bunkered down to ensure that Pyramid 2010 will have the capacity to deal with any out of the ordinary event.

Booking acts for Pyramid began early this year with artists from around the world showing their support for the festival…the result will ensure that this year Pyramid will undoubtedly be hosting its best line up to date.

Not only will the festival deliver its biggest ever line up, but in an unprecedented move, anyone that attended Pyramid 2009 will receive discounted entry and priority purchase to this year’s Pyramid Rock Festival! New staging and site layout will be some of the more obvious changes that have been made and Pyramid organisers can assure patrons that everything imaginable has been reviewed, revised and reinvented to ensure that we’re safe, sound and ready to continue partying at Pyramid Rock until at least 2109!
