Where does my brain find these things? I do not know… but I like it! It’s brutal, it’s honest, it’s to the point.

People of Australia, you have only a few more chances to see Sugar Army tear indie rock’s metaphorical body parts in 2009 in Melbourne next Thursday 3rd December at the Evelyn Hotel and on New Years Eve in Perth at the Rosemount. Sugar boys also have a couple o’ summer festivals namely Homebake and Shiny’s beloved Pyramid Rock Festival. Then the lucky bastards get to kickstart 2010 at Southbound and – holy frikkin crap – Big Day Out nationally!!

Check out our tours page for all details.

hehehe. i said ‘arsehole’.

Their final 2009 headline shows were played Thursday 1st October at Prince Of Wales in Bunbury and Saturday 3rd October at Capitol in Perth to launch their new single ‘No Need For Lovers’. I’d say you certainly need to be a lover of Sugar Army! They’ve got nothing but praise and awards throughout the launch of their LP ‘The Parallels Amongst Ourselves’. ‘No Need For Lovers’ was the #1 most played song on triple j in early September and is #2 in the AIR 100% Indie Most Played chart. You have to admit, that’s pretty impressive! But if you thought the awards stop there wait…there’s more! Sugar Army have been nominated for Qantas’ Spirit Of Youth Awards (SOYA) 2009 in the Music Category. ‘The Parallels Amongst Ourselves’ has also built up its own little reputation by being rated Album of the Week on RTR FM and SYN FM. Sugar Army’s successful tour has left fans craving more!
