A typical Sunday so far…post newspapers, coffee, toast, marmalade, cheese and old man pills. I’m all for ideas to how to ignore the call of the office when lo and behold i come across evidence that Eric Northman, the local vampire sheriff and owner of Fangtasia, was infiltrating Australian media way back in 1978! What sinister plan was Eric hatching with South Sydney Rabbitoh fan and TV icon Ray Martin while holidaying in the Carribean? And was Kerry Packer somehow involved?
The old adage that if “you pay peanuts, you get monkeys” has already been proven by the fine Myth Busters crew to be true i’m sure!! That’s why here at Shiny we prefer to pay in chocolate!!

That’s right kids, when we put the word out there that we were willing to pay in Caramello Koalas for our website to be created we stumbled upon a young, bearded chocoholic who couldn’t resist the temptation of a very cool looking box containing 70 x 20 gram Caramello Koalas.
In exchange we offered to temporarily unshackle him from a world of corporate whoredom, where the poor chap had become entrenched and entangled.
Unfortunately we can’t out our man – but can let you know that if “you pay in Caramello Koalas, you get Brett”.

So… my first ever blog entry in the history of blogdom. I’ve avoided this medium for the longest time, I much prefer handwritten journals of the pen and paper kind. But Stav-boss says this doesn’t have to be a personal blog so I don’t have to tell you about the fight i had with the mean tree in my front yard on Sunday, or how i spent last week pulling up my shirt to show people my new and improved ugly swimswuit tan, or that i couldn’t find my pants this morning so i’m wearing a skirt and my legs are cold. Don Lane passed away in Sydney on Thursday 22 October. He was 75 years old.
Born Morton Donald Isaacson in New York, Don Lane was embraced by Australian fans. His variety show ran on the Nine Network from the 1970s until 1983. He won more than 15 Logies during his career and in 2003 he was inducted in the Australian Logies Hall of Fame.
