Biography
Brisbane duo DUNE RATS are on a mission.
Out to prove their worth to fans hungry for a dose of visceral energetic tunes, the dynamic duo pairing of Danny Beus (ex Villains of Wilhelm) and BC Michaels (The Cairos/Comic Sans) is set to blast off across the east coast to launch their new ‘Social Atoms’ EP.
Their line up screams awesome! Beus, arguably one of Brisbane’s most outlandish and entertaining front men, complimented by Michaels’ serious drumming skills and knowledge of the secret art of fun-time will see them impressing fans and critics alike with their catchy mix of garage surf pop.
Joining forces in late 2010 for an impromptu jam after “several nights of talking shit”, it didn’t take them long to realise the music they were creating was more than just the sound of two kids in a garage annoying neighbours.
Their first EP ‘Sexy Beach’, produced by John Steel Singers’ Tim Morrissey, received praise from both critics and fans – both online and off – blowing the minds and hearts of music bloggers around the world.
In their short time on planet Earth Dune Rats have torn stages apart supporting and touring with like-minded protagonists The Vines, DZ DEATHRAYS, John Steel Singers, Bleeding Knees Club, Belles Will Ring and The Fearless Vampire Killers.
With 2011 coming to an end Dune Rats are just now getting their party started.
With the release of their new EP ‘Social Atoms’ signalling the temporary life-changing ritual that is touring, our sage advice is to be alert, not alarmed, and above all don’t forget to have fun!
